We are all walking around with pre-cancerous cells in us. The only reason that they are not expressed is because our immune system is keeping the lid tightly closed on them. Even when they are expressed, sometimes a dramatic regression of the cancer can be achieved by getting the immune system up to speed, and by not undermining it with unnecessary tasks.
Cancer is a modern disease. Remarkably, for all the tens of thousands of mummified ancient Egyptian bodies studied, no sign of cancer has been found. The same is true when we look at peoples who live in the traditional primitive way. Why should this be? Why should cancer be a disease of modern industrial societies?
We can be fairly sure that the primary reason is the way we eat. For the Natural Eater, the reason is simple, our bodies were designed to work in a certain way. Today, the ‘gas we are putting in the tank’ is totally disrupting the extraordinary chemical factory that is our body.
We like to know the detail of how and why. We know, for example, that antioxidants and other phyto-chemicals are important. But they are only effective if eaten as plant food, and not when taken as supplements. It is clear that there are many more essential compounds in plant food that we still don’t know about. But we do know that they all need to be present together to be effective. Much better,
we now know which plants do the trick.
As described in detail in the System, some foods actually DEPRESS the immune system. We need to get that right before we have a totally cancer-protective and cancer-healing diet.
Are we saying that diet alone can do the trick? In prevention, certainly; but if you already have a cancer you need to stack the deck of cards in your favor. If you are having chemotherapy, radiation treatment or any of the other practices used by orthodox medicine, you should keep it up. But does your doctor talk to you about diet? Almost certainly he has no real idea about how food is the root cause of many cancers, let alone how food can be used to put cancer into remission.
Natural Eating makes the difference!
Breast Cancer
What about breast cancer? Everything said about cancer in general applies to breast cancer in particular. Nevertheless, there are some special remarks to be made.
Remember the saying that ‘we are what we eat’? A woman’s breasts furnish a good example. For example, a woman who eats a lot of saturated fats and trans-fatty acids (hydrogenated fats) has more of those bad fats stored in her breasts. Such women are at much higher risk of developing breast cancer.
Next, let’s consider the insulin connection. High insulin levels increase the number of estrogen receptors in the breast by a factor of 12. This is a formula for increased tumour growth and proliferation. Moral? Keep insulin levels within normal limits. The Natural Eating System shows you how.
Finally, the anthropological connection. Breast cancer is practically unknown outside the West. You don’t even have to clamber over the Himalayas or the Andes to find peoples who live breast cancer-free. Take a comfortable plane to Tokyo, Singapore or Hong Kong and you will immediately be amongst peoples who live longer than Westerners do, and whose women do not suffer from breast cancer. Their secret? Read about it in the Natural Eating System!
Colon Cancer
With approximately 135,000 new cases reported each year, colon cancer is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States, and it is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths. Studies have shown that a variety of diet and behavioral modifications reduce colon cancer risk in the general population.
It is hardly surprising that what you put in to your mouth can have dramatic effects on what happens at the far end of the digestive tract. We know perfectly well what you need to do to avoid colon cancer and what to do if you already have it.
You don’t even have to eat like a primitive tribesman to avoid colon cancer. It is virtually unknown among many societies such as the Japanese and Chinese. Some of the causes are really surprising – who would have thought that high insulin levels might be a factor? But they are, and there are many more insights, in the Natural Eating program.
Lung Cancer
This is entirely due to smoking, right? Wrong! Many people who have never smoked get lung cancer, and many smokers can greatly improve their chances of never getting it. Did you know that the Japanese are one of the heaviest smoking populations in the world – and yet one of the longest lived?
Japanese longevity is not due to smoking but in spite of it! But they get away with it because they have a diet, whilst not perfect, is a lot better than the one that is common in the West.
In other words, the Japanese diet, by chance turns out to be closer to the ideal diet for the Human species than eaten elsewhere. In the Natural Eating program we have a roadmap to this ideal feeding pattern that is lung cancer protective.
Prostate Cancer
This is not an inevitable disease of men in old age. There is a host of factors that contribute to prostate cancer – including such surprising findings that milk drinkers are much more vulnerable. The Natural Eating program steers a course through all these pitfalls and shows how to maximize your chances of avoiding prostate cancer.
Pancreatic Cancer
Pancreatic cancer is the fifth most common cause of death due to cancer and is difficult to diagnose. It is often not determined until the patient has experienced symptoms of advanced cancer such as weight loss, jaundice and pain.
Pancreatic tumors are usually detected only after they have metastasized, or spread, even though ultrasound, CT scanning and other radiological methods have improved the ability of physicians to diagnose pancreatic cancer.
However, by modifying the risk factors, incidence of the disease can be reduced, even eliminated.
Pancreatic cancer is increasing rapidly in Western populations – why should this be? Yes, the answer is diet! In particular, one that causes the body to have abnormally high levels of blood glucose. In Natural Eating, we talk about how this ties in perfectly with what we know how humans should be feeding themselves – and of course, how we can remedy the situation.
Esophageal Cancer
This is a cancer that is relatively uncommon now but increasing fast. Of course there is a link between what you put in your mouth and the damage it does to the esophagus just a few inches further down.
Not surprisingly, a Natural Eating feeding pattern is the most protective. It also helps to avoid obesity. There are other factors too – Japanese men are particularly susceptible and studies have shown that this is a cultural factor at work – their wives serve the men their food piping hot. The women only eat after the men and the food has gone cold. Very hot food is a risk factor too! There are many more insights in the Natural Eating system.
