INGREDIENTS:
ROASTED
PEANUTS, SUGAR, PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED VEGETABLE OILS (RAPESEED,
COTTONSEED AND SOYBEAN) TO PREVENT SEPARATION, SALT Skippy Peanut Butter Well, you didn’t really need to
have it explained, did you! 25% of the daily maximum of fat in just one
serving (2 tablesp.); 10% added sugar; gratuitous salt; and for good
measure they’ve hydrogenated the added oils. Shame really. They had got the
right idea in using rapeseed (Canola) which is good and the soybean oil
which is tolerable – but they’ve spoiled it by turning them into
bad, hydrogenated (saturated) fats. The cottonseed oil is a bad oil
right off the bat. Raw, unsalted, peanuts are an acceptable food in modest
quantities. By the time Skippy has turned them into peanut butter it is
definitely bad news. Avoid. |
